Bands and Orchestras

The Asheville Community Band is a group of musicians who volunteer their
time to practice and perform
together. Members
range in age from high
school student to
retired adult. They come
from all walks of
life and have varying occupations
from doctors
and teachers to farmers
and engineers.
Consisting of over 90 members, the love of
music is the common thread of this large
group.

The Blue Ridge Orchestra performed its inaugural concert in April
2000 to an enthusiastic
audience and received
positive reviews.
The orchestra is
comprised of accomplished
amateur, semi-professional
and professional musicians
who volunteer
their time in an effort
to make orchestral
music more accessible to
the community.

The Land of the Sky Symphonic Band presents concert band music in the tradition
of a community-style band. Their members
include amateur and professional musicians
of all ages and walks of life who live in
Buncombe, Henderson and McDowell counties.

Brio Concert Series. The Brio Concert Series is an all-volunteer
organization that brings the area's finest
musicians to perform free concerts in and
around Weaverville, North Carolina.
Every season brings a balance of wonderful
music, such as chamber, percussion, big band,
brass and the exciting rising stars of Western
North Carolina.
